This Privacy Policy describes how Wedzie Inc. ("Wedzie", "we", "us", or "our"), an Alberta corporation, collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information in connection with our website and online platform (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy is intended to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA"), Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act ("PIPA"), and applicable Quebec privacy legislation, including Law 25.
By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, subscribing as a Vendor, booking services as a Client, or otherwise providing personal information, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Platform from Vendors, Clients, and other users located in Canada, including Quebec, as well as individuals located outside Canada who use the Platform to book services within Canada.
"Personal information" means information about an identifiable individual as defined under applicable privacy laws.
Wedzie collects personal information that you provide directly when you create an account, submit booking requests, communicate with Vendors, use planning tools, or contact us.
This may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, event details, account credentials, and communications exchanged through the Platform. Vendors may also provide business-related information, including business name, service offerings, and service locations.
Payment-related information is processed through Stripe Connect. Wedzie does not store full credit card numbers. However, Wedzie may receive limited transactional data such as payment confirmations, payout status, and identifiers required to operate the Platform.
Wedzie may also automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data to maintain security, improve functionality, and analyze performance.
Wedzie uses personal information only for purposes that are reasonable and necessary to operate the Platform.
This includes creating and managing accounts, facilitating communication between Clients and Vendors, enabling bookings, processing subscription payments, supporting Stripe Connect transactions, providing customer support, improving Platform functionality, detecting fraud or misuse, enforcing legal agreements, and complying with legal obligations.
Information entered into planning tools, including to-do lists and budget calculators, is used solely to provide those features and improve user experience. These tools are intended as general guidance only.
By providing personal information or using the Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Where required, consent may be obtained expressly. In other cases, consent may be implied through your actions, such as submitting information or completing transactions.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawal of consent may limit or prevent your ability to use the Platform.
Wedzie may disclose personal information to third parties where necessary to operate the Platform or comply with legal requirements.
This includes disclosure to Stripe Connect for payment processing, as well as to service providers that assist with hosting, analytics, communications, and security. These providers are required to use personal information only for authorized purposes.
Wedzie may disclose personal information where required by law or to protect legal rights, investigate fraud, or ensure user safety.
Personal information may be stored or processed in Canada or in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. As a result, personal information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
Wedzie takes reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is protected by appropriate safeguards.
Wedzie retains personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, regulatory, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes.
When personal information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted or anonymized.
Wedzie uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
Despite these measures, no system can guarantee absolute security.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to your personal information and request correction of inaccurate information.
If you are a resident of Quebec, you may also have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal limitations, and the right to request that your personal information be provided in a structured, commonly used format where technically feasible.
Wedzie will respond to such requests in accordance with applicable law and may require identity verification.
Wedzie may use automated processes to improve platform functionality, such as organizing listings or improving user experience. These processes are not intended to produce legal or significant decisions about individuals.
Wedzie uses cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality, maintain user sessions, analyze usage, enhance security, and improve the overall user experience.
Cookies may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and browsing behavior. This information is used to optimize platform performance and better understand how users interact with the Platform.
You may adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies; however, doing so may limit certain features or functionality of the Platform.
